Introducing Lisa Wilson

My friends probably grow tired of me inviting them to post on this blog and few of them take me up on the offer. However, I recently “met” a basketball wife, Lisa, through our group on Facebook, and she also enjoys cooking, baking, and sharing recipes (check out her FB group for swapping recipes)! For now I will post her recipes and photos and tag them with “Lisa” to share for all.

As a young child my Grandma would get ingredients out for me and let me make my own baking creations.  I look forward to my Grandma’s carrot cake she makes every year for my birthday. Not only is my Grandma a superb baker but so was my Nana, I would walk to her house as a child to pick up the baking she had made for us, and marvel at her creations.  My sister loves to bake too and I was very impressed with the birthday cake she made for my niece on the weekend for her 4th Birthday!! I can’t forget to mention my Dad and his banana bread – it arrives always when you need it the most, funny how parents just know :)

I  LOVE to bake.  I make a HUGE mess in the kitchen, I get slightly annoyed if I am disturbed or if I think my baking is not perfect.  My daughter who is 2 likes to join me in the kitchen to bake – she likes to bake cookies and muffins but would rather eat ginger crunch.  One thing I do with recipes is improvise – I don’t do times – I just know.  I open the oven door, I add more of this and less of that, but I do make sure they look pretty if I am giving them to my friends :) My partner gets the ones that I think look “ugly” he probably thinks Im nuts :)  Here are some nice easy recipes because I am sure some of you have families – and quick easy recipes make life easy

Lisa is a stay at home mother mother to her daughter Kaia who is 2 years old and 2 step children Maddison (10) and Jackson (8).  Her fiance, Paul Henare, this year retired from playing professional basketball and is now a basketball coach.  Lisa and her family live where Paul works.  They are New Zealanders. Lisa also works casually supporting people to live independently in the community.

Please welcome Lisa to the blog! :)
